Hey Gang,
We find ourselves ramping up for another great TEDx event and are looking for some volunteers! Since you have participated before and know what TEDx is all about, we want to reach to you first. Some of the areas we are looking to folks are:
- Social Media Volunteers: Bloggers and folks to send out awesome Tweets
- Artists: We are looking for a few artists to help design maps prior to the event and work with other design work
- Social Butterflies: We are looking for others to participate the day of the event by assisting attendees with signing up, ushering the crowd and working at various workstations
- If you are interested and would like to participate, please me let me know via email by Saturday Nov 9th. If you are not able to participate, but would like to spread the word about the event, a flyer is attached with all the information.
TEDx Women is December 6th from 3pm-9pm. It will talk place at the Delray Beach Public Library.

ITPalooza is now 5 weeks away and the team is working hard to drive Attendee registration, User Group participation and Sponsorships. We are on track with 25 top South Florida industry speakers delivering presentations in over over 30 sessions over 9 tracks.
This week there are no less than 8 great events on the SherlockTech calendar. Tonight, Microsoft technical evangelist James quick will be presenting Mobil Games with Gamemaker at Coders Cafe. Wednesday is the South Florida Digital Alliance Universal Access Awards. Thursday, Miami hosts the international Web Congress and SherlockTech will be promoting ITPalooza at the Tiger Direct Tech Summit and Holiday Bash. Friday is the Ruby Conf in Miami Beach and SQL Saturday #248 is taking place over in Tampa.

Our client in Boca Raton is in need of Director of Software Development (Microsoft stack: C#, .Net, SQL). This is an executive position within the IT organization responsible for all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications.
Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Information Technology primarily focused in software development and software applications.
• Minimum 8 years software development management experience.
• Proven ability to lead people and produce results through others.
• Excellent knowledge of current software development methodologies and standards to include “agile” in addition to traditional development methodologies.
• Excellent knowledge of current software development languages and development platforms.
• Considerable knowledge of data security and privacy regulations and requirements and software development best practices for compliance.
• Considerable knowledge of project management practices, software quality assurance practices and tools, including regression testing and load testing techniques
• Ability to review user department needs and design and develop practical systems network applications to maximize user benefits
• Ability to plan and direct the activity of personnel involved in technical systems design and implementation
• Ability to solve complex problems in a timely manner.
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
Key responsibilities:
• Ensure that development projects and software deployments meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and comply with all applicable security, privacy, and audit requirements and regulations
• Ensure that information necessary for internal and external reporting is available, current, and accurate, and that tools for business intelligence and reporting meet business requirements
• Manage the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications.
• Define and enforce software development methods, practices, and tool sets as worldwide standards.
• Collaborate with CIO, Operations, Security / Quality Assurance, Customer Support organizations to ensure application delivery to end users meets performance and quality expectations.
• Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
• Provide IT and Corporate management with timely project status reports.
• Provide IT and Corporate management with software development staffing utilization reports.
This is a full time permanent position in Boca Raton. Excellent opportunity for seasoned professionals. Compensation will depend on experience.
