ITPalooza is just 14 weeks away!

ITPalooza is just 14 weeks away!

Alex188A Message from Alex Funkhouser, Organizing Committee Chairman.

Last year, on 12/12/12,  ITPalooza raised over $30,000 in charity donations from 1,200 members from the local IT community. In keeping with the spirit of bringing together the whole South Florida Technology community, this year, on 12/12/13, ITPalooza will be a full day of vendor-prospect interaction, tech education sessions, hackathons, professional networking and a tech employment fair.

Organized by over 50 local technology groups, from the CIO Council to IT Security and hands-on programming groups, the day culminates with a grand courtyard holiday party with live music by the all-IT professional ITPalooza band.

This is THE BIG ONE- All your favorite South Florida Technology Groups will be getting together to host the 2nd annual networking party!

We invite you to partner with ITPalooza in bringing together hundreds of tech savvy individuals to share an experience you will benefit from for years to come.

Thank you!

Alex Funkhouser, Organizing Committee Chairman and President, SherlockTech Staffing

ITWomen Virtual Mentor Changes Rachel’s Life

ITWomen Virtual Mentor Changes Rachel’s Life

Rachel Hill, a 2013 ITWomen Scholarship winner, says she could not have imagined how much the ITWomen Virtual Mentoring program and her mentor, Margaret Brisbane, would change her life. Rachel ’s mom, who passed away when Rachel was 12, used to work for the technology group at Miami-Dade County (“ITD”), which is where Margaret, a longtime ITWomen member, also works.

Through Margaret, Rachel has met many employees who knew her Mom. Margaret also organized a fundraiser for Rachel which, in addition to cash, provided Rachel with a bin of essentials for college at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in Melbourne.

Rachel wrote a big thank you. Here is an excerpt from her letter to her Mentor and “ITD” family:

“…I find it remarkable how one action could change your entire life. This ITWomen scholarship is one of my greatest accomplishments so far. Through the scholarship I met Margaret, one of the best mentors I know. I also found something that I have been searching long and hard for. I found an important piece of my mom…” Click here to read Rachel’s full letter
