Thursday, January 22nd, Tallahassee, Alex Funkhouser, CEO of SherlockTalent presented the case for South Florida Career and Professional Education Academies (CAPE) and the value, and benefits of certification programs to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Education in Tallahassee last Thursday. Under consideration by the subcommittee is the appropriation of $97m in local K-12 funding initiatives, $48m of which goes away because it’s non-recurring and $277m for Higher Education local projects, $118m of which goes away because it’s non-recurring. The Subcommittee is tasked with considering how to fund new and old projects as well as how to fund education initiatives put forward by governor Scott.
