Our client is seeking a Network Engineer who enjoys travel and is willing to work overseas on projects for 2-3 weeks several times a year. Candidate will be responsible for network integration, designing the network, configure, installing and troubleshooting any network hardware equipment. This is a f/t permanent position in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

 

Responsibilities:

• Design network physical topology using MS Visio

• Create IP scheme using Excel

• Create customer deliverable configuration documents

• Create Port Map document using Excel

• Create network diagram using MS Visio

• Create network configuration plans for firewall and network engineering of Smart TV’s, Smart Phones, Smart Tablets, Set Top Boxes, Servers, Multicast Encoders, and Receipt Printers.

• Assist the System Engineering team in finding out at what OSI layer an issue resides in and properly document the issue for review.

• Participate as a member of the team in the support handover meeting after project has been completed to walk our support team through all the customer deliverables and completed documentation.

 

Skills Required:

• Proficient in reading and writing in English and Spanish.

• Proficient in using Windows and/or Linux tools for troubleshooting network.

• Proficient in reading packet captures for IP, TCP, UDP, RTP, IGMP, SIP, DNS, DHCP, RTSP, HTTP, HTTPS protocols and 802.11 frame captures.

• Proficient in LACP, PAGP configuring/troubleshooting ether channels for Server NIC bonding

• Proficient in troubleshooting IP and IP Extended Access Lists

• Proficient in implementing Video over IP using QOS

• Proficient in configuring/troubleshooting Cisco ASA firewall

• Proficient in analyzing wired and wireless network captures with Wireshark

 

Knowledge of/experience with:

• Cisco iOS wired and wireless equipment, Ruckus Wireless, Meru Wireless networks

• Nomadix Access Gateway, MikroTik Access Gateway, RGNets Access Gateway

• Riverbed Steelhead

• Windows Server 2008 and 2012

• Linux/RedHat/CentOS

• Apple iOS, Android and Windows Phone

• 802.1Q, 802.11A/B/G/N/AC

• Wireshark

• CCNP, CCNA Voice, CCNA Wireless, CWNA, CWNP

• Experience with Asana and Confluence is a big plus

 

Other Requirements:

• Must have valid U.S. Passport so that travel can be easily scheduled by project management.

• Ability to work a 40% travel schedule

• Ability to work overseas in a foreign environment

• Adaptable to changeable travel schedule (Client dictates travel schedule and arrangements)
